Cut!

This was one of those weekends where I seemed to spend a lot of time in the kitchen.  But I did manage to get my hair recolored and cut! Here is what it looked like on our roadtrip 2 weeks ago.  I was letting it grow out a bit but by this point, I was in need of getting it reshaped.  It's hard to see here but the back was getting really shaggy and tickling my neck! I *love* this picture of 1920's actress Louise Brooks so this was the inspiration I gave to the stylist. After making me look like a potato for a bit... ...this is what she did!  (Pay no attention to my lack of make-up and pre-menstral pimple. :P ) I *LOVE* it!  This is the first haircut I have had in a VERY long time that I am really and truly happy with. :)  I started going to the Paul Mitchell School in Atlanta and I am really glad that I did.  The girl that I have seen twice, Rachael, is super sweet and eager to learn.  It was amazing how much more confident sh...

Taking a bite out of Prom

I can't believe almost 4 months has lapsed since my last post. I could give you a bunch of excuses but it really just comes down to 2 things: life and laziness. :) When I wasn't busy or sick, I just simply did not feel like making anything. No sewing, no drawing, no painting, no crafts of any kind. I did make something last month, though it's not very exciting. It's just a top I made to wear to Kinky Prom here in Atlanta. It's just the top of a dress that never fit me right and the bottom of another thrifted dress sewn together to make an empire waisted top. (And yes, my date was a man dressed like a woman. *grin*) I was so happy with the way my hair and make-up turned out that night and the fangs just added to the effect, I think. The hairfalls were made by a friend of mine which she put on a crocheted headband that I could tie around my head. That is the only thing I don't like about having a short hair: I can't wear pig tails when the mood strikes me. Exc...
