Glue woes & toast

Remember how excited I was about the glue that finally worked? Um. Yeah. I was wrong. Sunday night and Monday morning, the rings started falling apart when touched. I tried another glue last night ( Gorilla super glue ) and it didn't hold, either. So I've tried various super and crazy glues, all stating that that can be used on metal and plastic as well as E6000, Gorilla Glue, and the Scotch Maximum Strength Adhesive. I've even tried various glue dots that claim to be permanent. I guess I will have to break down and get epoxy. I was trying to avoid the mess of having to mix it but nothing else seems to be working well. But I would rather get this figured out now rather than AFTER I started selling the rings to other people. :) And now... some happy toast!

Nipples! Pizza! Glue! Oh, my!

I wore one of my rings last night to test how well the glue would hold. It held up flawlessly. It also made me giggle all night. :) I wore this one to work today as a day long test of the glue's strength and it's not loosened or budged so I think I finally found an adhesive that works without being difficult to work *with*! One of the things I love about the Scotch Maximum Strength Adhesive is that it is a thick gel which takes about 30 seconds before it starts setting so I have time to get the pieces positioned correctly before letting it cure. Curing takes about 24 hours and when it does, it seems to be really strong. I've applied a good bit of pressure to the rings and they've not loosened at all so far. :)

Still here :)

I know I've been silent on this blog lately but I am still around. I've even been making a few things, though none of it really fashion related until now. I've decided to open at Etsy shop which won't be open until I can get a stock of stuff made and pictures of said stuff taken. Here is just a tiny preview of what I am working on. :) At the top of the picture are rings which are adjustable from a size 5 to a size 10.5!!! I was so excited when I found those ring blanks since my fingers are too chubby for the usual size 6-8 ring blanks. :) At the bottom of the picture are some pendants I made. Don't those look like real stones? They're not, though. They are images taken from catalogs before going into the recycle bin and then made into medallions with my button-maker. Some of the rings are made using the same concept but some are designed by me. There will certainly be more about all of this at a later date. :)
